Early models had 39 braids, with every other braid, or each braid painted with a red dot or line. In 1995, the mold was changed to have only 20 braids, all with red dots of paint.
In 1995, QVC released 30 models with the leather Canongate English jumping saddle and the hunter bridle. These models were the 20 braids version and came in a box as #704295.
