"The fourth release of the 2026 Vintage Club is sure to brighten up our collectors’ days – introducing Phoebe! Breyer’s first foray into collaborative lamp making came when they partnered with Marks Manufacturing, a fellow Chicago company, to create a series of Western Horse and Western Pony lamps in the early 1950s. At that time, Westerns were hugely popular in movies, on TV and radio, and in comic books in the boom years after World War II.
Some of the most well-known lamps featuring Breyer models were produced by Dunning Industries of North Carolina, from the late 1950s into the early 1970s. One of Dunning’s best-selling lamps featured a Family Arabian Foal. Most are woodgrain, but some palominos turn up as well. They were undoubtedly popular bedside lamps for horse-loving children!
Phoebe is a wonderful homage to Breyer’s history with a fresh new face! This lovely Vanner Foal mold debuted in 2023 as #90211 Rhemi, a popular Premier Club release. Painted in stunning palomino on an elegant lamp base, this nostalgic offering is sure to light up every vintage lover’s collection!
