Palomino with bald face and four stockings with white or palomino shaded mane and tail. Palomino color has varied from a light tan to a dark orange. In 1968, this model was released with the tan shaded hard plastic saddle. Comes with twisted link chain reins.
Notice the photo of the model on the box was reversed. Models from around 1987 have been known to shrink. Original models had no mold stamps, then around 1970 the USA Stamp was added. Around 1991, the linear Breyer Reeves Copyright Stamp was added (some #57's have this).
See separate records for the Palomino with Snap On Saddle and the Palomino with Grooming Kits.
Besides size, the main difference between the Western Horse and the Western Pony is three studs on the bridle, instead of the four found on the Pony.
This model was also released through the Enchanted Doll House catalog in 1988-1989.
