Advertised as #44 Black Beauty in the 1954-55 catalog, but is estimated to have been released late in 1953. Molded with black plastic, no white markings, glossy with gold breast collar and bridle, gold hooves and brass chain reins. This model was not released with a rider. It came with the black hard plastic Western saddle with gold trim and tapaderos. This saddle has only the high grommet snap-on cinch. There was a Western Horse in this same color.
Western Pony #40 was also advertised as 'Black Beauty' in the 1956-1959 catalogs, but typically, Breyer has referred to the #44 all black model as 'Black Beauty' and is labelled as such for this database. See separate record for #40.
