Five Gaiter: Palomino aka Commander

Palomino with bald face, white points, four stockings with pink hooves, pinking on nose and ears (and sometimes at the corner of the eyes), and a yellow mane ribbon with red crisscross. Palomino color varied from light to a darker honey tan color and later releases were close to an orange color. At some point during the 1970's the end of the tassel seen over the mane was cut off, but it doesn't appear this release of models was affected. An uncommon variation is eye whites (most eye whites had ended by 1969).

Originally released with just the round Breyer Molding Co Copyright Stamp and the CHESS Stamp, then the USA Stamp was added around 1970. In 1970-1971 this model was released in the Showcase Collection boxes as #520.

From 1961-1968, this mold was called 'Commander - The Five Gaiter' and after that was just referred to as 'Five Gaiter'.
